Fishing & Shooting

Cumbria has more fishing waters than any other county in England, and Eden offers many opportunities to enjoy this past time with its many tributaries.

Appleby Castle owns the fishing rights on both sides of the river from bridge to bridge in Appleby. Salmon, trout and grayling are frequent this stretch of river.

The Eden valley is also enormously popular for shooting and shooting parties and Appleby Castle is right at the centre. With shoots only minutes drive away, Appleby Castle is the ideal location, offering luxury for those weary legs after a days shooting.
