LARGE GROUPS

Large groups are able to book out the entire castle. The capacity of the Castle building only is 32 people, based upon two people sharing. There are twelve bedrooms, some with two super-king or double beds in them. In total there are 17 separate beds in the castle.

Including the cottages adds another 16 people (based on two sharing two cottages with an adjoining door can accommodate 6 people each and one cottage can accommodate 4 people). In total there are 10 separate beds in the cottages.

We are able to provide breakfast, lunch and dinner to large groups who book the entire castle.

Appleby Castle is the ideal location for a group or family holiday. The Lake District, Yorkshire Dales, Hadrian’s Wall and Durham Cathedral all within easy driving distance – as well as many walks in and around the area. In addition the Norman Centre in the Keep will be open, as well as guided tours of the castle and fishing available in the 25 acres of parkland surrounding the castle.

FAMILY GATHERINGS

Appleby Castle is the perfect location for a family celebration.

Set in 25 acres of private grounds, some groups have enjoyed the different dining options in the castle.

Some have opted for a medieval feast in the Old Great Hall and dressed in period costume. Others have opted for a formal meal in the Great Hall.
