Relax in our spacious 15th century dining room with silk high backed chairs, a large oak dining tables surrounded by candles and a high ceiling to create a charming unique atmosphere. Encased by 17th century oak panelling with a log burner, spend quality time dining with those that matter most to you. Our chef has over thirty years experience cooking in various location throughout the world. Our food is exquisite and the selection of wines superb with something for everyone’s palate.

For many, the highlight of this memorable castle is the elegant dining experience in unsurpassed ambient surrounds with fantastic food on offer.

Private Dining Rooms

Dine by candlelight in a room added to the castle the 17th century with oak panelling and a high ceiling. Whether you are a family with young children or a couple choosing a special meal, these spectacular rooms offer a private intimate dining experience. Five course Taster Meals available when this room is booked.

Oak 4 can accommodate 8 people.
Intimate Dining £90 per person
Family Dining (Supplement of £45 for the room)

Oak 5 can accommodate 10 people and features a spectacular view of the Norman Keep.

We do cater for large group functions and have the following options available.

Appleby Castle is a unique and place to celebrate your special occasions.

· The 15th century Great Hall and Old Great Hall can cater for large groups (90 maximum) celebrating in splendour.

· The 15th century Dining Room (normally set for couples, but can accommodate large groups).

· The 17th century Private Dining Rooms: Oak 4 can accommodate up to 6 people and Oak 5 up to 10 people.
